How much time do you spend remembering things that have happened in the past or thinking about things that are going to happen in the future? What is happening now – the present moment? Mindfulness is seeing things more clearly, and paying attention moment to moment to moment. When you are mindful, you notice what is happening—as it happens. Mindfulness creates a space, a pause in which you can respond considerately to situations, rather than to react. Creative possibilities open up; new ways of being with life’s challenges can present themselves. Would you like to be more calm, relaxed, connected to your life and the people in it. Do you feel stressed out, tired, overwhelmed. Are you interested in learning new ways to cope and navigate your life. To feel peace, joy, and happiness. Over the 8 week program we will work together to create a foundation in mindfulness practices, as well as mindfulness in daily life, and positive communication techniques that will help you to cope and manage everyday stresses that will extend long after the program is over. The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program (MBSR) is more than ‘Mindfulness’, it is a specifically designed stress reduction program that offers many benefits to all those who are willing to engage.’ I look forward to sharing my practice with you. What is Mindfulness?
The Stress Reduction Program can be thought of as a course designed to help people to recognize and mobilize their inner psychological resources for taking better care of themselves as a complement to the medical treatments they receive through more traditional health care routes. It is based on a relatively intensive training in mindfulness meditation and its applications for coping with stress, pain, and the challenges of everyday life which also can be compounded by a chronic illness or disease.
